Nick Stahl Is Out Of Rehab, Goes Missing AGAIN
Early last month, Nick Stahl's estranged wife and the mother of his daughter, Rose Murphy Stahl, told the police and the media that she hadn't heard from him in a couple of weeks and she was worried he took his ass to L.A.'s Skid Row to score a fix. Shit was looking bleak, but then Nick showed up a few days later and checked into rehab. Nick signed up for one of those 30-day programs, but he didn't last that long and checked out 3 weeks later even though his doctors told him that was not a good move. Right after Nick quit rehab, he went to stay with a friend and was seen trolling around downtown L.A. Nick never went back to his friend's house and Rose Murphy tells E! that she hasn't heard from him for four days. One of Nick's friends also tells E! that they're looking for his ass everywhere:
"Now he's disappeared. We can't find him anywhere. He has not made contact with anyone. We are all just desperately looking for him. Everyone just wants him to come home. It's a terrible situation. We are searching, but we've had no solid leads."
We all know what Nick's doing and maybe Rose keeps going to the media every time he goes missing, because she thinks that if he turns on a TV wherever he's at and sees her message, he'll call home. Or maybe I'm making something out of nothing and Nick is just EXHAUSTED from being in rehab for 3 weeks and is taking a nap in Lindsay Lohan's Marina Del Rey hotel room.
Hopefully, Nick will turn up safe and when he does, Rose should really look into putting a GPS microchip on his ass.

i had an addiction to Oxycontin a few years ago. i hated it, i hated using it, but i had to. withdrawing from drugs is the worst feeling in the world. it feels like your skin is trying to crawl right off your bones and your muscles are being torn apart. using Oxy became something i *had to* do in order to get through the day and not feel sick.
anyway, the moral of the story is i feel for nick stahl. he's talented, i hope he gets his shit together.
oops, I thought this was Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, who is starting to resemble Barnabas Collins!
He needs a microchip so we won't have to hear about his foolish ass missing every week.

Addiction is a disease of the mind. Modern science and medicine agree on this. The problem is, nobody knows exactly what causes it or, more importantly, how to treat it. The 12-step programs have an abysmal success rate, and nobody else can seem to find a cure or even an effective treatment to replace this outdated method (yes, I know there are some people who are helped by it, but they are the minority). So you get people like this, like with a wife who is crying out for help, but there is not a good treatment or prognosis. It is unfortunate, but it can be overcome, and I hope this dude comes to his senses. Along with all the other addicts out there. I don't hate them for it; I pity them. I feel sorry for their families.

*shrug* Personally, I wouldn't bother to look for a husband whose chosen the pipe over family. Write the bastard off and hopefully collect the insurance when he slithers out in a final haze of crackie smoke. I have NO patience or sympathy for non-RX drug users.
I think this is so sad.....The DH has 5 yrs of sobriety under his belt. It's never easy..

Team addiction is a bitch, that it has nothing to do with "overindulged" or socioeconomic status [we are focused on addicted celebrities because this is a gossip blog], and it has medical and psychiatric ramifications that make it damn near impossible for an addict to break the denial, want to get clean, go thru the clean-out process and then try to stay clean.
imo, this is one of those "stfu if you have never walked this road" type of subjects. you know, kinda like spouting off about who and who should not use "the N word" when you have never been called one. kinda like that.

his peeps need to let him hit his bottom. Sorry but speaking from experience from too many years of drug addiction (still battling the alcohol...three weeks now..but damn quitting the booze is hard since it is everywhere!!)...and I love Patron, but anyhow, trying to rescue someone is only going to backfire on them, and make this addict crave the life style and drugs even more. I feel bad for them and they seriously need to go to AlAnon....

Which is why I don't like busting on anyone with addies because unless you've been there, no one knows just how physically and mentally hard it is to get under control.

I remember when I was in the highest point of my addiction, my family thought I was dead, I was MIA. Now as a mother it breaks my heart to have to think of saying goodbye to your kid because you don't know if they're alive or not. UGH!!!

Addiction is such a horrible disease, it breaks my heart. It turns people into monsters and puts their families through hell. I can't even imagine what it must be like and even if I could I wouldn't want to. I hope he shows back up and does the work to get clean, but I'm not betting any money on it.
