Maria Menounos Tells Howard Stern She Was Molested By Doctors
I went with that picture, because reading a story about doctor molestation as told to Howard Stern is sometimes easier to read when a stoned poodle with black jellybean eyes is staring at you.
Maria Menounos, who co-hosts that Extra shit with AC Slater, was on Howard Stern yesterday to promote something or another and their talk strangely went from how she didn't do the naked rumba with her completely heterosexual DWTS partner Derek Hough to how several male gynos have touched her wrong. While my ass got an Operation-game like shock in my loins while watching that hot piece Dr. Richard Besser (you ain't never accused me of having standards) talk about Robin Roberts' condition on Nightline last night, Maria doesn't have it like that for doctors. Maria has a serious phobia of doctors and she can't get examined by one unless her boyfriend of 14 years Kevin Undergaro is in the room with her.
Maria told Howard the horror started years ago when she went to see a doctor for an issue with her throat. The doctor told her to get naked and change into a hospital gown. As far as Maria knows, her throat didn't suddenly drop into her coochie area, so she was traumatized when the doctor started pressing on her genitals without telling her he was going to do so. Maria went on (via The Stir):
I was really young, so I was so uncomfortable ... [My boyfriend] Kevin was in the waiting room and I literally started screaming ... I was just so uncomfortable I didn’t know what to do.
Kevin told her to call the police and press charges against Dr. Molesty McSickFuck, but she says she didn't want to make the issue worse. Maria told Howard that it wasn't the only time a doctor made her feel extra gross inside. It happened to her several times by different doctors including one time when a dude doctor complimented her belly button ring before touching it.
It is kind of weird that Maria said all of this to Howard, but stranger things have happened on Howard's show (see: Jenny McCarthy's entire interview). I have so many questions, but since my brain is a tundra of dumb uselessness, the one I kept asking myself while reading this was: THE HELL? Was her doctor the creepy ass bitch from Hand that Rocks the Cradle?

I heard the WHOLE interview and I gotta tell ya, there is something wrong with that woman. She has a lot A LOT of issues and I am not saying that these things didn't happen in her mind... but it reminds me of the "Family Guy" episode when Peter gets a prostate exam, but thought he was being molested because he didn't know what a prostate exam entailed.
BTW, I don't find her particular attractive. She's not ugly, but she looks pretty typical Hollywood starlet.
She has a lot of sexual issues and her boyfriend pretty much implied it. That's why she kept trying to get him to shut up. She is weird and sounds rough, not gentle at all.

ITA Irish! My husband was molested at 10, but had mentally buried it until our own son was 10. You're ashamed and embarrassed and there's even guilt that you "let" it happen. Look at how some of us are calling Maria stupid, like it's her fault. I know a lot of people were raised to listen to and do exactly what a doctor says, and if you're young and female? Even moreso. I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of us have a similar story.
Not to blame HER, but she should have reported it when it happened. That asshole has probably abused so many more women. Hopefully other women reported him.
Daniee...where's Jess? olol
Oh she went in for a sore throat and was told to strip naked? I didn't read that part. Very odd. But still, doctors can use their white coats, badges, MD credentials and the sterile, unknown environment (for the patient) and use it to their advantage. They can suss out a victim very quickly.

I'm sure someone's already commented on the stupidity of getting naked for a throat issue but whatever...it was the 90's, right? *shrug*
True story...my gyno asked me out once during the exam. Um no. Then my slutty gf scheduled an appointment cuz she thought he was hot. lmao
Oh, and the reason people "tell" Howard is because he is the best interviewer EVAH! Getting Martha Stewart to talk about her vibrator usage? Please! Howard could get the Pope to fill him in on his favorite porn genre. No one can get celebs to talk about what they least expected to talk about like Howard!
You know, it can take years to say something like this and sometimes it could be blurted to a stranger or in a setting that you'd normally never dream of talking about.
When it comes to abuse, there are no rules on when and where to say stuff. I actually don't think it's that abnormal to have said it the way she did.

Wait... the doctor required her to take her clothes off for a throat problem and she just did it? Who the hell is that stupid?

Sometime in the last year this chick went from cute to annoying.
I couldn't listen to this interview - this woman is dumber than a box of rocks, and her boyfriend is extremely boring.

No doc should have done that, of course, but if you haven't actually done anything about it for all these years, why are you talking about it now? And to Howard Stern, a guy not noted for his sensitivity, law-enforcement connections, or medical credentials?

Please: It's "rahnday."
Honestly, this is why I only go to female doctors (especially for gyno visits). As a victim of sexual abuse when I was a kid, I am incredibly uncomfortable just saying okay to a strange guy doing anything down there even if it is a doctor. Nothing against the doctors, just my own personal comfort issues.
My primary care doctor, my OB/GYN, my dentist, my occupational therpist...all female. I don't go to male doctors, not do my kids. I have my reasons.
Today I have to see a doc rather quickly so he's male but it's for my foot so I'm ok with that. Besides, I can drive that foot into his crotch if he tries anything.

Okay ladies, anytime a doctor's appt requires nudity - there should ALWAYS be a female nurse present.
I had a gyno tell me I was pretty mid-exam one time. Uh CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPY. Never went back.

Not that you can't still get abused, but this is why I tend to go for female doctors. I had a male spend entirely TOO long on a breast exam when I was younger....and he was my dentist...j/k! But really I was pretty sure his tent was pitched after the exam, ugh...
WTF are you on CRACK!!?

I almost choked on my orange. Thanks, Michael.

My obsessive fascination is in your imagination.
Ohh. K.
1. Who tells Howard Stern of all people this?
2. Whenever I go the doctor which requires nudity, he asks if I would like his nurse or assistant to be there. I thought that is what most usually do.
And not to diminish what happened with her, but why wouldn't she report it to the college? But go tell Howard Stern.
Seems odd.
