Even though I haven't even seen one picture from the ceremony and they could've gotten married in the break room of a Subaru dealership for all I know, I can still say this it was the most beautiful and greatest wedding of all-time! I was going to pour a little ginger beer in my morning coffee anyway, but now I have a real reason to do so. Cynthia Nixon's rep tells People that after being engaged for 3 years, she can now say the words millions of people wish they could say, Rojo Caliente is her lawfully wedded wife!

That's a very good point.It's almost like saying: gays can get married but there is a catch-keep fashion choices traditional. One must look like a woman and the other must look like a man.

There's a problem with this vein of thinking. The traditional marriage ceremony (heterosexual) asks of its participants to identify themselves as a man by wearing a tux and a woman by wearing a white gown. Do we ever ask why is it that it's the woman who has to wear the gown and not the man and vice-versa? Your thinking implies that women should definitely wear gowns/dresses because that is what is "natural" when it most definitely is not.
As for lesbian ceremonies, my best friend got married some years back and she wore a dress and her bride wore a gown. Similarly there are many lesbian couples who choose to wear gowns. At the same time there are many lesbians who do not follow the hetero-normative coding of dresses since they are female bodied and choose to express themselves in a masculine fashion. Hence the suit. This is something which goes beyond the butch/femme dichotomy. Frankly if/when I marry a woman I most definitely will wear something less traditional.
