How Dare Aishwarya Rai Go Out In Public Looking Gorgeous
Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai has been described as the most gorgeous woman in the world by people who obviously have never felt their retinas curl from the sheer shock of Shauna Sand's natural beauty. But when a picture of a fuller Aishwarya Rai, taken six months after she gave birth, made the rounds, some dim-brained shit bags told her to get out of the kitchen and get back on the treadmill! According to them, it's her job as a Bollywood star to be skinny at all times...like Posh! Yeah, those bitches completely lost me when they compared Aishwarya Rai, a human being, to Posh, an alien amphibian who loses her 4 pounds of baby weight by shedding her skin on the plastic surgeon's table while nurses from NASA suck tiny particles of fat from her gills with Dyson wet vacs. That seems unfair, but that's probably just me.
At AmfAR's Cinema Against AIDS gala in Cannes last night, Aishwarya Rai made her first red carpet appearance since dumb fucks called her fat and ugly, and guess what? She still looked hot. To me, Aishwarya Rai would still be gorgeous even if she had 50 extra pounds on her body and those 50 extra pounds were from wearing a floor length coat made of hideous glove shoes, boots made from Kardashian taint hair, three extra chins covered with UGGs fur, a CROCs top hat and a beaver backpack with Chris Brown's face on it. I know, I went too far with whole "Chris Brown backpack" thing.

I am going to be plenty fat when pushing a 9lb person outta me - that said she looks like she. As hunched shoulders.
And yes a lot of ppl play the jealous card to women when they don't find a particular stunning woman attractive! I've seen it here too - everywhere!

They practically worship her in india for having light eyes and skin. It's pathetic!
===============================================
It's the same with the black community, Lighter skinned black are looked on as prettier, look at all the Black chicks in HW, the light your are and can still claim "black" the better your odds are at getting gigs, and the less discriminated you are in your own community.

True! And sad. I live near Little India in NYC and in the stores they have all kinds of lightening creams for the skin. Shelves and shelves of "Fair" this and "Fairness" that - they really push light skin/light hair/light eyes. And most of the people have dark skin/dark hair/dark eyes.
Nothing like an unattainable or near-unattainable goal to get people to spend money: stay superthin all your life, look younger as you age, get lighter skin...

THIS is the picture that caused an uproar in the Indian media!
How dare their only white-looking actress gain weight after pregnancy! Such travesty!!!
*roll eyes*
Kate - I've been a vegetarian (an ovo one: I still eat cage-free eggs) for over 8 years now and there are LOTS of places for recipes. I mean lots. You could start with YouTube and the magazine The Vegetarian Times is great for beginners. Where do you live? A lot of grocery store have been putting on cooking demos and such for a few years now. It's pretty much mainstream now (mostly due to awareness about the environmental aspects relating to eating factory meat), you do not have to live off of seitan. I do really like a lot of Indian inspired meals and in the summertime, Meditterean is usually nice. You shouldn't eat tofu too often anyway, it's hard on the stomach unless you are getting or making the fermented type which is an acquired taste.
She is gorgeous. I live in Vancouver and I just do not know why Indo women wear so much heavy eye make-up....it must take the whole night to get that stuff off.

Yeah I don't see anything particularly earth-shattering about her. For one, she's a nosejob away from being Michael Jackson. The only reason she's so revered in India is because she looks white.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AGREED 100% !!! Have you seen her acting? My God it's horrendous!
I believe even the director of her movie with Colin Firth made fun of her acting. She's THAT bad.
The only thing she's famous for is winning some stupid pageant million years ago and looking some-what whitish for an Indian.
Even in her "prime", she wasn't that stunning, just hype. They practically worship her in india for having light eyes and skin. It's pathetic!
she has always been stunning, but she is a terrible actress and that's why all her attempts to make it big outside of Bollywood have failed. A few years ago she had a big PR push and was in L'oreale commercials here and had two movies come out and bomb
India doesn't need more babies.
But, I mean, she shouldn't be harassed for her post-baby body...
Pregnancy, IMO, is a right to get fat.

Kate for events like that you're pretty much screwed. I eat before I go to family gatherings and other events were I know there is going to be nothing that I can eat. Also I take a small baggie of nuts and dried peas to nibble on after.

Good idea. I need to start doing that. I'm putting a bridal shower together and I had to go back to the maid of honor to remind her to put a veggie option on the menu, not just for my sake, but just in general you should always have one unless you know every single person there's diet.

Totally 100% off topic. I think. I went vegetarian about a month ago. I will not start getting all uppity and moralistic about not eating meat, don't worry. I'm doing it mostly for health reasons (I have a history of kidney stones and this is the best diet for someone like me) but a small part of the reason IS animal welfare. Anyhoo, I have to be careful about what I eat due to the kidney stones (specifically spinach and soy are no-no's) but I have an appointment with a nutritionist in a few weeks. I was just wondering if anyone here was a veg-head and had any tips, tricks or recipes to share.
Sorry I'm off topic here, but just mentioning diet/India made me think of it

I'm not veg--I can't tolerate high amounts of soy--but I do make a point to cook a lot of vegetarian meals. India has such a high percentage of the population who are vegetarians for religious reasons, and so naturally their cuisine really has the best veggie options (especially paneer...love that stuff). East Asian (if you like soy) and Ethiopian have fantastic veggie-based dishes as well.
For cookbooks, try Mark Bittman's "How to Cook Everything Vegetarian." Easy to read, inexpensive, and unpretentious...pretty much the only veggie cookbook you'll ever need. Molly Katzen's Moosewood series is phenomenal, too. And if you're really feeling adventurous, check out the Vegan Yum Yum blog...pretty photos, too.

SVG,
Agreed! I've seen many women who were "cute" in their teens and twenties become ravishing beauties in their thirties. I'll be 30 as of next year and am looking forward to it! I'm finally beginning to see a hint of cheek bones residing under this baby-face of mine. :P

Veg head (but not 100% eat cheese,fish and turkey[now and then] and egges) here but only cos red meat smells of death to me. Ugh! I just cant...and my mom is a full on carnivore! Grill veggies - so nice!
_____________________________________________________
I'll do eggs and a little dairy and occasional fish. Dairy doesn't always agree with me though so I've moved onto rice milk for my cereal and coconut milk ice cream (Whole Foods).
I've just never been a big meat eater anyway so its not a big whoop for me to give it up. My problem is figuring out what I can have when I'm not in charge of my own menu. I went to a catered lunch the other day at my office and the only vegetarian options were carbo-loaded shit. Which I still ate because I was starving but that's pretty much exactly what I don't want to do.
Yeah, but how many people want to be down there humping her leg - even in public? Are there any pics of her legs anywhere ... I'll brb ... maybe ....

The women and most of their female clients from "Selling New York".

I've seen that epi! Perhaps she's not married to a doctah because she's fug with a fug personality. I wanted to suggest she plan her funeral because clearly at 39 her life was "ovah" w/ no husband. What a fucking small town mentality. *smh*. I like seeing those awesome homes though despite the horrid NY accents.
Stupid work keeps interrupting my Dlisted time....
Anyways, I wanted to add on to the baby weight thing what seems like a dissenting opinion. I think many women can look better than they did in their 20's as they age. I know a lot of women that have gotten more attractive as they have aged.
and she's still gorgeous.

Hear hear on not trading the skinnier younger self for the happier 'softer' one today.
Good on her for following what she is after - a family.
*pats softer bits happily*
She really is stunning.
Gorgeous in any way, shape or form.

If you're an Aishwarya Rai fan, you need to watch this! I think this was the most beautiful she has ever looked. Just divine:

Trailer Trash.
I adore Ash, and she's always made me feel better about having a more round-type face (when oval is considered the "ideal"). No hate for her, and I'm glad to see that she's chosen to lose the baby weight at a healthy pace (and still looks gorgeous).
Meh. To be honest, I never thought she was so amazing-looking even when she was skinny. Definitely not ugly but she wouldn't have been even the best looking broad in my neighbhourhood, let alone my planet.
She looks fine now with the "extra" (=healthy) weight. No more or less attractive than at her previous size. Although, yeah, none of us looks in our 30s the way we did in our 20s so I think that age has more to do with her not looking at her very tip top absolute best-ever. Big deal. Most women become happier as they get older so I'm sure she wouldn't trade her young, skinny, insecure self for her present, mature, contented self.
I read somewhere that it was all her Indian fans that were freaking out and being mean about her weight. They were annoyed apparently because she could no longer hold claim to being the most beautiful woman in the world. Derps.
At least that's what the Mail says and we all know that if the Mail says it, it's unimpeachable.

The thing with B'wood actresses is that more often than not they re chosen only because of their looks. Most of the actresses are former Miss Worlds. And all of them conform to this pale skinned, extremely thin, straight wavy haired type which isn't the norm among the population. Indians are very diverse genetically so the women can be racially different but I don't find the dark, curly haired woman represented often in movies.
And India is not actually that disapproving of body shapes. I think with Aishwarya she has always banked on her looks so maybe they felt entitled to say all this nonsense.
~~~~~~~~~
She is stunning! Thanks for reading my mind Luna Tick, I was going to question the pale vs dark women and how they're viewed.
She's gorgeous and looks great for having had a babeh. Bet you in real life she looks way skinnier than that.
Was at dinner the other night sitting next to a couple of news presenters at the next table.
On screen they look normal size but in real life surprisingly skinny, not one ounce of fat on them.
Tis true what they say about the camera.
Sweet Geeezuz. Lol!!
She's chunky but pretty.
I think she is still beautiful. I love the combination of dark hair and light eyes, male or female. I think as a society we need to settle down on the only thin is beautiful.
BRIDE AND PREJUDICE!
***************************
Ummmm, the point here ISN'T that you have to find her the most beautiful woman ever, the point is that she is being ripped by people for not being rail thin seconds after she gave birth.
Not everyone finds the same people beatiful, but there is something wrong with people who think that the minute a woman spits out a 7lb human from her body, she should have the body of Posh.
Oh come on GG, you know you felt a stirring in your special place...
