Someone's Going Hard For His Second Oscar
It's amazing what GOOP's silicone second chin from Shallow Hal and a fat suit borrowed from The Insider can do. Here's Sir Anthony Hopkins in full Alfred Hitchcock drag for that movie about the making of Psycho, which also stars Helen Mirren, Toni Collette, ScarJo, Jessica Bile (typo and it stays), The Karate Kid and James D'Arcy. Yup, I see it. This picture has suddenly made me jealous of all the dudes who were lucky enough to piss next to Hitchcock in a public bathroom. If you stand sideways next to this picture, you can kind of know what it felt like. I bet you could always count on Hitchcock to never look down.

I love Anthony (call me Tony)Hopkins, but he overacts and gets all pissy when a director tries to reign him in. He's a ham.
Is this the trend in Hollyweird? Make movies about making movies? They just did this with that Marilyn Monroe pic last year. I thought it was going to be silent movies.
Oddly enough, Hitch never won an Oscar. It would be funny if Hopkins won one for playing him.
Grace Kelley was the one Hitch really wanted, especially for The Birds. Hendrin was not his first choice, and he said she was a horrible actress. They had to keep throwing the fake birds on her to get an actual startled look.
I hope they don't make him try to imitate Hitchcock's voice. He sounded like he had a throat full of flem.

Hitchcock was awesome. I used to watch old reruns of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" when I was a kid. Loved the fact that he really didn't need gruesome scenes or lots of blood. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED "Rear Window"!

All your buddies would sit in this one parking lot in the summer and when you went for a cruise you'd all do the same route and end up back in the same lot!! Lots of fights, drinking, local fairs complete with smashup derbys. Everyone knew everyone and it was all good. We had the Roxy theater with one screen on the main drag and at 14 the best fucking pinball arcade for MILES baby:)

No but I did go to The Commodore downtown to see some band called "The Hardrock Miners" this was YEARS and YEARS ago. I do remember it being a kick ass club and with that horse hair sprung floor the entire club was doing a pogo dance all at once and you could actually feel the spring in the floor, it was awesome. Mother Mother has a real unique sound. I wasn't big on their last album (very commercial IMO) but "O My Heart and Touch up have a really cool sound and the girls back up harmonies are really what make their sound cool.
I have relatives in AB and I too couldn't handle how fucking COLD it can get out there.
When I visited I usually only went for a week so there is only so much I saw but I HAVE seen some pretty impressive grow ops I'll tell you that. I mean HUGE fuckers, I shook my head at how big some of them were. lol!!

In any case, BC bud is the best. I went to an outdoor party on the Sunshine Coast and the air was so thick with weed smoke that you didn't even have to toke.

I've lived everywhere man, including Courtenay. Did your pal take you to infamous Waverley in Cumberland (usually have good local bands playing) or to the Vancouver Island Music Fest?
Quadra Island is gorgeous and has some great hiking trails too. I haven't heard of Mother Mother but I'll look them up.
Yeah, the island is very laid back and it is hard to leave because of the nature and the temperate climate. I lived in AB and ONT and don't miss the mosquitos or the snow.

Oh, Hitchcock was known for being crappy and sexist to his female stars. But back then, it was glossed over and those actress who spoke up were black-listed or their careers were destroyed. Tippi is a very good example.

Terrible choice, as much as I like Anthony Hopkins. Timothy Spall has the right age and the right Brit face, no prothetics needed. Plus he's a marvellous actor.

He looks like him but the problem is Anthony Hopkins can't do voices, accents, impressions or anything. He can only ever talk in his own voice/accent and that is great for some things but it doesn't work when playing a real person.....Or when he played a black guy from New England (yes that happened)
