Open Post: Hosted By Mary J. Blige's Burger King Commercial

In keeping with this afternoon's theme of "Who ever is making decisions for Mary J. Blige needs to stop making decision for Mary J. Blige," here's Mary J. Blige singing about crispy fried chicken in a new Burger King commercial. Burger King has ripped this cock a doodle don't shit off of their YouTube channel and Gawker says it could be because some people shook their head over a black woman singing about fried chicken. That could be the reason, but it could also be because this wreck is a disaster. I'm assuming that Burger King hired Don Draper to pitch this idea to Mary:

"Okay, Mary, we're going to do you up like a lunatic space chicken from hell and have you squawking about your love for a deep fried chicken peen wrapped in a tortilla. Do you need my pen to sign the contract or did you bring your own?"

The only reason to sign is if Don Draper pitched the idea, because you can't say no to Don Draper. But still.

I haven't trusted Burger King ever since their Dr. Pepper slushie turned my shit green, and now because of this, I will never trust them again.

If they pulled this off because black people don't want to be seen as eating friend chicken, that is bullshit. I'm black and I enjoy fried chicken. So what? I don't care who knows it. I avoid fried foods for the most part, but this is just reinforcing a stereotype if they're trying to avoid one. The biggest mistake I can see is asking Mary J. Blige to do do anything. She's has nothing to say unless she's miserable, talking about how she was miserable, or dulling something down. She's a Debbie-Downer. Humorless. I can't stand her. We now know her album No More Drama was a flat out lie because she is fueled by drama. It is her (pathetic) life force.

@Sweetas! I LOVE Shiner Bock! There is a bbq restaurant here owned by some Austinites...they get 1 shipment of Shiner Bock a week and they run out SO quickly. It's annoying..you would think they would order more! They DO have Blue Bell Ice cream now though. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I don't think MKB is talented. Like AT ALL. There. I said. it. I never got the appeal. Most of her songs are covers & she only fucks them up. I can't think of one song she has improved. Her range is just ok and her voice is just ok. She bugs the FUCK out of me.

She made herself out to be this big domestic violence advocate, opening up a women's only DV shelter in New York--which in itself is a good thing--and then what do you know, she punches her husband in the face in a club. They changed the recipe for KFC here in Canada and it doesn't taste near as good as it did, it tastes like KFC light. Something is definitely missing, I'm not sure what it is but I ain't liking it!!

ooh I forgot about Chick Fil A....fantastic stuff. I think Popeye's is a bit too dry, but the spices are delicious. KFC is hit or miss. screw this post, now I want some fried chicken :-(
