OctoMom Is On Welfare Now
If Elmo's sucio ass didn't pay for that bus time handy from OctoMom then he better FedEx her a cashiers check ASAP, because ho needs money now more than ever. I don't know how they did it, but TMZ somehow got a hold of (cut to OctoGranny with an oh-so-guilty "It wuzzint me!" look on her face) a picture of an EBT card with OctoMom's government name on it.
TMZ points out that Octo swore on her fame-making uterus in the past that she'd never open her hands to government assistance, but with 14 hungry eating holes to fill and her offers drying up faster than her relevancy, she had to raise the Help A Bitch Out flag. Octo makes less than $119,000 a year and has 15 mouths to feed, so she qualifies for a $2000 monthly food only allowance from the State of California. TMZ source's say that Octo is also trying to cut her monthly expenses by pulling all but one child (who is autistic) from private school.
A bitch can argue that Octo did this to herself, but those 10 thousand million chirruns didn't do this to themselves and they gotta eat. Damn. If crazy was a protein, they could nibble on the crazy their mom gives off, but it ain't. I'm assuming Octo has some kind of other income falling into her wallet, because I don't know how $2,000 can feed a family of 15 for a whole month. That's like one shopping trip to Whole Foods. Those kids are gonna have to go on the college diet (Top Ramen, popcorn and Boone's Farm).
Octo needs to enroll in reality show boot camp. Bitch needs to spend time with the Extreme Couponers to learn how to buy $1,000 worth of groceries for six pennies. Then she needs to spend time with the Duggars to learn how to make laundry soap out of baby saliva. And finally, she needs to spend a lot time with Ma from Ma's Roadhouse, but only because I want to see Ma smack Octo with some nicotine-stained truth.
And I officially HATE myself for playing this song in my head as soon as I read about Octo's welfare woes:

People have complained about people using EBT to pay for candy or liquor - when I was super super poor, before I was a mom, I used to go to the store and buy Lemonheads just to shut my stomach up. Its funny that you mention this because I went back on food stamps and I have had people bitch me out in grocery store check out lines. I was bitched out once for buying a cake for my husband, and once more for buying some organic produce and organic chicken breast. The first guy said his tax dollars were not going to celebrate someone's birthday and the second lady said that her tax dollars were not to be used to eat "fancy". My argument is first of all I work 40 hours a week and pay taxes into the system too. Second, I don't want to be fat and sick from eating mac n cheese and chicken nuggets. I guess it is impossible to do right. Now I try to hide my EBT card as best as I can.

I don't think anyone is advocating punishing her children or starving them (hell, a good portion of the women on welfare are obese, so obviously, we have no 'starving' poor).
What patently IS disgusting is that she was mentally ill and found a doctor who would do the unthinkable... impregnate her with so many viable embryos. It's just unconscionable! Sickening really.

I can't hate on welfare, because kids can't help being born into a poor family. I grew up in a very poor part of Ohio, and I can tell you that the rich/middle class have no idea what the poor are up against.

I grew up upper middle class, but both my parents were dirt poor as children (third world country, no running water, not enough food, barely two outfits to their name, one to wash, one to wear). They both came to this country as immigrants with only $300 in their pockets. Gee, how did they do it? Through a lot of sacrifice, and sheer hard work. My father did any menial job he could do despite the fact he was educated. They didn't feel entitled to entertainment, fancy food, salon trips, vacations, cable TV, cars, lottery tickets, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, or anything. And within a decade, my father entered a career that allowed my mom to stay at home with the kids and the rest is history. Not once were they ever on any kind of welfare. And their story is by no means special when you look at their friends and family and fellow immigrants.
While there are certainly many deserving people who need welfare as they are trying to better their lives, the truth is the vast majority of welfare recipients today use it as a crutch and feel no sense of personal responsibility because they know they can get away with it. Welfare was intended to be a temporary assistance, not a way of life as it now is. I don't mind if someone lost their job and they need help as they get back on their feet, or if there's been a major change in life like a death or divroce, but it's completely inexcusable when you have people who continue to shit kids out and make other idiotic decisions despite the fact there is no stability in their lives, no partner to work with and no intention to get back on their feet.

A common misconception that many people are unaware of is that welfare doesn't exist anymore and has been replaced by a system called TANF. With TANF, you can only receive assistance for two consecutive years followed by at least a one year break before you can be qualified to receive assistance again. One person can only receive assistance for 5 years during an 8 year time period and people on TANF have to maintain enrollment in various social, enrichment and work programs in order to continue to receive assistance from TANF.
Food stamps, on the other hand, are given out to people who make $13,000 a year or some shit and can't really afford food.
Contrary to what you might think, it's almost certain that if your parents were poor immigrants, they received some form of assistance from the government in the form of food and housing either to them directly or to the diaspora or church, etc. of which they became apart.
Free food, housing, education and healthcare might sounds like a bargain to some, but how well do most of you think you would have made out if you grew up in the murdering meadows projects never having set food inside an olive garden much less any other restaurant instead subsiding entirely on noodles and 7-11 hotdogs while receiving an education from the unified school district of east Detroit and only going to the doctor when you're seriously ill but never the eye doctor or dentist for preventative measures...it's not that great a life...

No, I was behind the counter as a cashier, so I'm pretty sure I just said it was fraud and they needed to pick something that was legal. This was about 8 years ago when Mini-Undine was just starting to walk. Cussing out customers pretty much guarantees you lose your job. (Except for when I was a waitress at this 24-hr diner and guys would grab my ass. Then the owner didn't care.) I was the one who pointed out that the item scanned wrong in the first place. I can't remember if they even took me up on the offer to buy them something.
Obviously this woman is a certified nut case. Don't need an MD to recognize that shit. Unfortunately, in this very wealthy country of ours, mental health care is virtually non existant and poorly funded.
The welfare system is completely shredded and abused compared to it's initial establishment and intention between 1930-1960. The welfare act has an interesting history and if you reference the facts and statistics its given us throughout the years you may boil and seeth inside like myself.
One thing that should be completely government funded is sex education and birth control. It's cheap. No one should be rewarded for continued careless spawning. It upset me in that particular instance because their benefits were set up for food only, and they were asking me to commit fraud, when I was just trying to fix a mistake I had made. I was a cashier at the time, so I was making minimum wage myself.
Most people have no idea what kind of benefits are out there if you have a really low income. You can get all KINDS of free shit.
I was making calls about health insurance assistance and if you are poor enough and have kids, you can get insane stuff. At least in NYC. Free health care, food, housing, transportation, education, child care...
Obviously, it's better to work for a high-paying job and buy yourself a nice life, but I was shocked at what programs are out there.

it's hard for me to gauge this because i don't live out there in the land of fruits and nuts, so maybe the cost of living out there is out of whack. but a 119 thousand a year is a hell of a lot of dough to be getting welfare. i don't care how many open bird mouths you have to feed. if i had that many kids i would probably have some cheap two bedroom apt and use one bedroom to line up 10 sleeping bags military style and funnel them in and out of the bathroom and the little kitchen would be like a conveyor belt soup kitchen. i would have that shit all locked down.

But the kids are here now, and they have needs. The kids are the innocent victims in all of this.
