Open Grammys Post: Hosted By The Promqueeninator
If you're watching this mess on E! right now, then we're rolling our eyeballs in unison at Ryan Gaycrest playing the littlest therapist in the world by taking people by the hand and asking them in a quiet concerned voice about their memories of Whitney Houston. Lawd, I want to run to him, get on my knees and slap him in the face. We don't give three or zero shits about what Parasite Hilton's moment with Whitney was like. I'd rather have a conversation with a wet fart than watch Ryan ask that gutter skank Wonky about Whitney again.
Thankfully, my eyes stopped rolling and went to the back of my head after I this Russian American pop star named Sasha Gradiva (who sort of looks like an Xtina made of melted Play-Doh) sashayed by looking like the secret love child of T2 and Pink Prom Barbie as seen through the eyes of Quentin Tarantino. All these bitches are trying to out-CaCa each other (see: Little Red Riding Attention Whore), but Sasha did it on a budget with a clearance prom dress from Windsor Fashions, a can of chrome spray paint and toy guns from The Dollar Tree. I don't know who Sasha Gradiva is and I won't know she is tomorrow either, but all the foolery on her body is working for me. But I'm probably only saying that because I don't really see a gun strapped to her arm, I see the ultimate no-no poker.
Anyway, this is your Grammy Open Post if you're into it and I'll cover all the fuckery tomorrow, because I'll be too busy downing a doodybubbletini (vodka, Nesquik syrup and caramel lube ) while watching this mess.

Totally agree. Not everything in music can suck that bad. I hate to say it, but most of the time when dlisted goes off on a "This music sucks" rant, the bands that are brought up as NOT sucking are hipster bullshit that I wouldn't listen to. Should we be listening to Ms. Doe-eyed Deschanel? Sorry, just my thoughts.
I am not even giving props to Pop music, I am much more a neo-soul person myself (Rahsaan Patterson, Ledisi, etc...) but when everything sucks all the time, we just sound sad and mean.
I will never get all the hate on Adele, I think people just want to hate something popular. It's just like how I HATE country, but I won't deny there are talented country singers. I am so happy for her success and I hope she causes the new twits coming in to the game to step it the hell up.

I love me some Fishsticks, but the Grammys fucking suuuuuck. They promote the artists that the industry is shoving down our throats for obscene profit. If it was based on actual talent, and not just industry circle-jerk and marketing, it would be a whole different show. Instead they display woman beaters ripping off dead pop stars' choreography, lip-synching, stunt queens, Shit That Sounds Like Nickelback (yep, I'm talking about the Foo Fighters, and yeah, I know they were around before Nickelback, but now they are officially STSLNB), Illuminati princesses, and totally washed up and irrelevant people.
Katy Perry sang at the fucking Grammys. The Grammys are supposed to showcase the absolute pinnacle of musical talent in the industry today. If that doesn't kill it for ya, I don't know what can.

I'll probably get flamed for saying this but..there is a difference between people who genuinely don't like something and some people here who just hate on everything. It's fine for people not to like Adele (her music, her sound, her style) but to say she isn't talented is ridiculous.

I'm honestly not trying to be a smartass here, but I've been reading the comments from people here and I have an honest question. If I pool all the comments from everyone, no one has any talent and everything and everyone sucks. I'm not saying everyone feels everything and everyone sucks, I'm saying that collectively, if we pulled everyone who has been mentioned on this post as having no talent out of the mix, there would be no one to talk about. So what is the point of any of this?
I find Adele amazing, but there are people here who think she's talentless. I find that incredible. If she has no talent, who does?? I agree with most here on Katy Perry and Chris Brown having shitty voices and being fully aided by computers, but there are others who think they're great. I don't know, its just funny to me that we all think we know what good entertainment is. Its such a personal thing. But I guess that's the point of these forums.

Nothing really spectacular happened last night. Some of the performances were just embarrassing. I wonder what those with talent were thinking.

Whitney Houston is like, our QUEEN. Amy & Whitney are completely & utterly irreplacable, not because I said so, but because it is and always will be impossible to duplicate what each of these women brought to the plate when they pitched for the human race.

I always love those who said "who??" with artists of the past when this generations *cough* artists rob every damn thing they can from "who??". I grew up listening to music from the 30s and forward because my family is big into all types from all eras, I can pretty tell any robbery that goes down. People are too dumb to realize not a single one of these new artists have an original thought in their brain.
For example, that new RiRi/Drake song, "It's my birthday and I'll get high if I want to" hmmmmm words similiar are in other songs today but that's from the 60s.
And I know this is a blog; but really, if you're going to try to post a well-thought post, do you really need texting language? Is it that much effort to spell it out? It looks stupid as hell.
