So The Duggars Showed Photos Of Jubilee Shalom At Her Memorial Today
Sometimes you just have to sit back and type ........ and this is one of those times. Michelle Duggar recently miscarried a 5-month-old fetus she named Jubilee Shalom Duggar (that name, I know...) and the entire family held a memorial for her at their church in Arkansas today. During the memorial, they handed out professionally taken photos of Jubilee's hand and feets with the note "There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world" printed on top. The pictures from the memorial were posted by a family member on Twitter and now they're on TMZ. Yes, we're still living in a world where absolutely nothing is sacred.
The pictures really aren't that graphic and I'm sure you'll see them when TLC airs a 2-hour special about this. I've seen pictures of women holding their dressed up miscarried babies while the entire family is smiling. Some might say it's tacky as hell, some might say it's creepy as hell, but I've always said that you grieve how you grieve and I'll grieve how I grieve. And yes, I grieve by shoving my face into a sheet cake until I'm too bloated to feel emotions anymore. But the thing that really gets me is that church. That's not a church, that's a Las Vegas casino! I know I see Wayne Newton back there. They have fancy ass lights and LED screens and shit. It's like if Jesus was new money. I mean, don't have some homeless people to feed?

Let them keep popping out kids I'd be curious to see what happens when they stop getting TLC checks because they weren't as financially stable before they got on the show. I actually had no judgement on them having kid after kid....they don't live on credit and JimBob supports them all -yeah shes a bit Stepford wife in a religious way but they don't seem to jam it down anyones throat and they certainly seem happy....

I'm fine with people taking those pictures for themselves. But why do these have to be shown publicly? I had someone on facebook do that. I really think that sort of thing is very personal. You don't see my mom posting my baby pics online. In general, I have a gripe with people posting every single pic of their baby or kid possible.

I've been a hospice nurse for going on 4 years. I see how people handle grief and always have to remind myself of the same thing that Michael said, that being that everyone grieves differently. I've seen some wacky shit and I've seen stuff that would make the Hulk cry like a little bitch with a skinned knee. Maybe this is the only way they know how to move past it.

There is a "Free Jinger" movement out there. She seems to be the one with the most spunk. I am also hoping one of them rebels. I agree it would have to be one of girls because the boys will be treated like royalty under the tenets of their fundamentalist religious views. The girls will be expected to pop out babies their entire lives and one of them will probably have something to say about it.

I recently read their book "20 and Counting" and the thing that struck me was they keep coming across all these "blessings" (Buy property for thousands below market, sell it for millions, etc.) but, they never pass on any of the good deals to others.

I have to agree. Sentient beings would take this as a clear sign to stop trying to make bio babies, enjoy the kids you have, enjoy the grandkids you have and will have, and maybe adopt if you really must have a new infant every 18 months. No reputable doctor would sanction another pregnancy.

well HC, it would be my hope that everything was done with the best of intentions. of course, there's a saying that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. my problem is that they should know better than to think publicity surrounding this event would end up being anything less than a clusterfuck. I mean, THEY'RE the ones on TV, not me. so maybe I won't call myself 'judging' them, as I am really just upset at what seems to be an extreme lack of wisdom and prudence when it comes to protecting their family's most private moments. hell, even Travolta and Preston didn't allow cameras at Jett's funeral.

exactly. so why are there pictures of Jubilee's feet plastered all over TMZ and Twitter. there are ways to prevent leaking of private family moments on public media, that is, if you are not seeking media attention.
for what it's worth, I did think long and hard about juding them. it is not right to tell people how to grieve. and there's absolutely nothing wrong with the pictures.
there is something incredibly wrong with publicizing what is the ultimate private family moment, and the worst pain a family can experience.
the nasty comments are exactly why you do not publicize such a personal, painful event.

I watched this special once about a female photographer whose specialty is doing portraits of stillborn children with their parents. At first it seemed really perverse to me but as I watched, it was actually incredibly moving and very tasteful. The parents seemed so grateful to have something concrete to take away from the experience...some time with the baby and a kind of validation that their child was there and theirs. I think they also did footprints/handprints. Now to display these pics in the way this crew did for TLC, now THAT'S vulgar.

I am all about handling grief as the mourner sees fit but this is just beyond. My family is Roman Catholic and we are all about photographing the dead, at least the older ones in my family are. That being said it is just disgusting that they chose to show this poor little ones photo at the memorial service. This is just stinks of attention seeking. Those photos and mementos are to help the grieving process not boost your ratings. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

If the girls see what they consider indecently dressed women on the street, (which would be everyone) they say the word "nike" for the boys to look at their shoes til the slutty girl is out of eyesight. That is old news but I couldn't leave it out.
They were embarassing idiots all across Europe and dragged Premie Josie with them where she got sick in Isreal and Michelle Jill and Josie had to stay back a week then a doctor flew back with them. When explaining their absence in the "Duggars do gooders" Jimbob lies when explaining their absence, he said they stayed back because Josie wasn't felling well, not that they were on the other side of the world. Liar liar for $ they saved her illness for the next paycheck episode.
