Brickdust? Do tell. I never saw _Skeleton Key_. Once, during a night of long, rambling posts, Khensu and I got into a discussion of superstitions,old wive's tales and voodoo variants. I find all of the above interesting for what they reveal about culture.

ACOW, if you love culture, religion and superstition, you have to see "Skeleton Key". It's set in N'awlins (or rather, a parish outside the town proper), and Kate Hudson plays a nurse who goes to take care of an old man on a creepy old plantation in the middle of the bayou which has a terrible history. Voodoo, spirit-jumping, etc - it's all there. One of the best parts of the movie is the message "It can't hurt you if you don't believe". Or can it?
ETA - the music and cinematography are incredible. I really think you'll like it. I should head off to bed as I have to work first shift tomorrow, but if you get a chance, watch the movie. I'd love to know what you think of it. Have a great night!

Update on the guy who went postal near here: he's still at large, armed and dangerous. He's been on the run for 11 hours. Cops have stopped all traffic within their perimeter and are searching all cars/trunks, etc.
