Russell Armstrong From The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Has Died
TMZ reports that Russell Armstrong of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was found dead in his home on Mulholland Drive last night. The police believe that Russell committed suicide, because the fire department found him hanging in his bedroom. Russell's roommate found him at around 8pm. Russell was 47.
Russell was going through a messy ass divorce with Taylor Armstrong and she recently accused him of beating on her during the end of their marriage. Russell admitted to pushing her around, but said he never Ike Turnered her in any way. Russell was also facing a $1.5 million lawsuit from a company that claims he and Taylor skimmed money off the top to pay for their lifestyle.
Russell is survived by his 5-year-old daughter with Taylor and his two sons from a previous relationship.

This makes me fucking sick. I know he didn't come across well on the show, but I honestly never thought he was a pig like Slade or Alexis's husband Jim on the OC show. I just thought this guy was shy and had social anxiety.
I am very sad for his daughter and for the fact that he was so publicly humiliated that he felt that this was his only way out.
I wish people would realize that fame is not everything its cracked up to be. So many people that are on these shows are mentally and emotionally unstable...

ITA. It's not normal to kill yourself. Latest stats indicate that 90% of people who commit suicide have mood disorders.
Anxiety is hugely co-morbid with mood disorders. and now this clearly anxious guy has offed himself, leaving his little girl alone with that nutjob.
Bravo needs to stop with this Real Housewives shit or turn it down a notch. I used to like Real Housewives of Orange County when the women resembled actual human beings, but now it's become a giant misanthropic spectacle. People just embarrassing themselves and trying to out-ugly each other. Too many people on the show don't really have the money to support the lifestyles they show off. The Bravo execs are just having some ugly fun with this show, but to me it's become unwatchable.
I am really upset about this. He seemed like a shy, socially awkward man, with a living breathing monster for a wife. I despise her. And my heart aches for his poor little daughter.

It's true, suicide seems to be happening frequently. Something's very off about our culture.
A million years ago, when I was in jr. high (which we all know can be Hell) I tried half-heartedly to off myself by downing an entire bottle of my brother's asthma medication. When I look back over my very fortunate life and try to take stock of all the wonderful moments I would have missed out on, it makes me cringe. No matter how awful we may think our lives are at any given moment, there will ALWAYS be wonderful things waiting around the corner that are totally worth hanging in there to discover. If anyone is ever in the position of wanting to end their life, I wish I could put that message in front of them. So sad that this man will miss out on his little girl's sweet 16th birthday, teaching her how to drive, her wedding, etc... So sad...

Whether or not you like Taylor, bashing her on this site is pretty brutal. She didn't ask for this. My father committed suicide when I was 20 and my sister suffers from mental illness. Thankfully, I was the youngest in my family and we did not have to try to explain it to a five year old...I can't imagine. It is still traumatic to think about 10 years later, and our family still suffers through our own blaming and guilt...whatever faults Taylor ever had-- she's in enough pain right now and needs support.
Sadly, mental illness research is hugely under funded although it affects millions of people. I did the first Over The Night Walk in Chicago 5 years ago, and it alone more than doubled the National Suicide Prevention Foundations yearly budget!! It is the killer no one wants to talk about...but it deserves attention.

I remember when he was trying to make lunch for his daughter. It was cute. He didn't seem distant from her.
I remember that Taylor told Lisa that Russell was this macho Texan stud. She seemed to have this whole fantasy idea about her life and kept getting annoyed that her husband didn't like the limelight or wanting to enjoy a party etc. It's like he wasn't living up to this idea she had of being a Beverly Hills wife, and being on TV etc.

Russell was not into that show, you could tell, and Taylor loved it, but he did seem that making money was what gave him his power- the wife, the social standing etc. - despite his awkwardness. His scenes with his daughter were genuine and sad now, looking back.

Remember that time when he was left to care for Kennedy all by himself, and he kept on trying to get her to tell him what she wanted to eat and she was messing with him and hiding. He was so painfully awkward it was kinda endearing. Poor guy. I don't know if he was or not an abusive dick of if he stole money from people but I do know he was a father and it just sucks that now his little girl will grow up without a dad.

I'm really sorry you went through that. I know a man who killed himself the same way, and his two oldest sons (8 and 12 at the time), found him. Suicide is a cruel thing to do to the survivors.

and he was in debt before he died and dealing with the divorce. And that he had no assets and unlikely anything to leave Taylor in his will.

She is just the kind of person I can NOT stand - SO caught up in getting the Princess life, they're totally not connecting anymore to ANYONE. Not even her own kid. Who throws a party for their kid and in the middle of it says O - does anyone know where the kids are *lafflafflaff* That ain't funny! That's your kid's birthday! And why the hell did she need to buy all that useless jewellery? Take that damn money and buy your kid a hypo-allergenic dog and someone to care for it. Honestly - those silly necklaces would have covered ALL that cost.

Really really feel bad for his daughter it's bad enough to lose a parent, but to lose them to suicide is something that poor girl will have to deal with in the future.
never watched the show but i still feel bad for anyone who thinks suicide is the only way out. terrible burden he put on his daughter to carry for the rest of her life.
