Two seconds before I read that the New York Senate opened the door to same-sex weddings, my eyeballs inhaled these pictures of Jehovah's sessiest witness moisturizing the ground in Montreal with his sexiness. It was the perfect pairing. You know, like a blow job and toothpaste.
Yes, I am perfectly aware that Prince once made the doves cry by saying that gay marriage is wrong (which he later took back). But even if those words trickled out of his pretty elfin mouth, I don't believe he means it. WORDS MEAN NOTHING, fashion speaks volumes.
Would an amethyst nymph with Gladys Knight hair dress like an old Palm Springs queen at an Ishtar-themed wedding if he was against gay marriage? Absolutely not. Prince can't fool me. Those platform flip-flops tell me that he wants to be closer to the arch in a rainbow. That purple turtleneck tells me that he doesn't leave his kingdom without consulting the spirit of Maude first. That kaftan tells me that he does a mean Mrs. Roper impression when he's in front of his gilded bathroom mirror. Don't worry, girl, your secret is safe with me!

Do yourself a favor and see him in concert. You will get your money's worth. He is an Amazing entertainer, musician, etc.,. I saw the Purple Rain Tour w// him, Morris Day & the Time, and Sheila E. Also saw him on the Lovesexy tour. He simply kicks ass on stage. He may be crazy, but he is still talented.
The thing about eccentricity is this: there are more regular folk who are eccentric that famous people.
However, eccentrics are often attracted to a life in the arts. It's actually not put on, certainly not with Prince, MJ and many others. (I don't think Madonna is naturally eccentric but lots of others are). I think it annoys us because we fear eccentricity and want everyone to be "normal" but I know several people more eccentric that famous eccentrics! Not on the level of Prince but to live like him (and many other artists) - they almost have to be oddities - that's why they succeed like they do - they are like no other.
Fame can also turn a regular person into an oddity. If we lived the lives of these people for even a week, I think many of us would actually hate it. But for some - these eccentrics- it's normal. And that's what sets them apart.

They're probably more normal than the average person; more normal than they would like to admit and they're afraid of it.

NO no I odn't think it was hate and frankly the media really didn't go there. It's just that after MJ passed I picked up on postitive comments about Prince that MJ said over the years from family, colleagues, industry people. I hadn't heard that before at all. It was something new to my ears.
It's nice that Prince did a tribute to MJ.
Now I still want to know Prince's story. His life must be juiceeeeeeey interesting for him to be able to walk around like that LOL!!!!
bourgie, I'm a huge fan of both Prince and MJ. I think their relationship was one of mutual respect, but also slightly competitive. Prince has talked about MJ at least 3 times on camera to my knowledge. Once when Chris Rock interviewed him and asked about why he refused to be in MJ’s Bad video and he jokingly said he was not about to be in a video where MJ is acting like he’s gonna beat him up. Also, once he defended MJ in a press conference during his 2005 trial saying people should stop judging before they know the whole story. Also, he did a very nice MJ tribute at his first concert after MJ died. He and his band played “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)”. An interviewer asked Prince about MJ after his death and Prince said “It’s hard to lose someone you love.” I honestly think their Jehovah’s Witness faith kind of bonded them in a way. There was no hate there, that was all created by the media.

Yes after MJ's death. I picked up a common thread from all the people who had a comment about MJ. It was also something that I never hear gossiped before and you know we've heard just about every type of gossip known to mankind when it came to MJ. The drips and drabs from all those people, especially his own family, was that Micheal Jackson thought that his only true rival in talent was Prince. Even though he was bigger popularity wise, MJ was straight up paranoid about Prince and follwed his career closely. Paranoid is my word but words like concerned, admired, awestruck were used but that's all mild mannered talk. I would even thow the word jealous in there.
To me they are such different artists that it would never even occur to me to compare the two. One thing that this shows is that MJ knew talent when he saw it. He was no dummy. I have never heard either one talk about the other. Strange. I can't recall Prince commenting on MJ's death either. But then again Prince never talks to the press.
I don't understand it. The little guy is 53, but he looks like a boy. He just doesn't age.
He's such a crazy little mofo, but on the positive side that jalabiya he's wearing is absolutely beautiful.
