While I hate the "idiots," I hate entitled assholes who wait for a chance to pounce on someone who is of a different opinion more intensely.

I love all of you cunts (I really do, every single one, and most of you are cunts) but the commenters are the ones ruining the D - NOT the people with whom you're arguing. (I don't dislike Oprah, I really have NEVER EVER watched any of her shows, I work bitches.)

As someone who is not white, and is treated accordingly (if you're not a small colored fish in a big pond of differently colored fish, your opinion will be different as would be your life experiences) I notice racial differences - everyone does. I don't base my treatment of people on these differences. It's UNDENIABLE that racial and cultural differences and tendencies exist, and they are interesting to discuss and study.

I'm NOT OFFENDED EASILY (any of you whores who really know me off of the D KNOW THIS) but while I don't like racial intolerance, the issue is interesting - but a sore spot for many, and isn't taboo to discuss.

But must we attack someone whose ideas are different? I mean, even if they're intolerant, if it matters that much to you, wouldn't you rather have them explain their thoughts, even so you could pick it apart for errors in your own mind? If I really believe someone has a flawed argument, I politely ask them to provide a more thorough explanation, and use those points to understand and argue (if it's WORTH arguing, and not meant for showboating on the internet in front of your buddies).

There's no reason to be mean. This is why the cool people stop posting, or take year long breaks.

I remember watching 'O' when I was going through hell with my child and she was a welcome and comforting 'go-to' show that really helped me not feel like I was losing my mind (and her earlier shows really focused a lot on young moms at the time which was great for me).

People hate Oprah for similar reasons why they hate Fishsticks Paltrow, Will.I.Am, Jessica Seinfeld, Michele Lea, and the dozens of other celebrities that show up on Dlisted regularly for their self-aggrandizing egos.

cappy - melatonin and l-trytophan are also good supplements to try for insomnia, as long as you can get sources you trust. valerian is an herb that works well, too.
