Stacy Layne Matthews, the Back Water swamp queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race 3! From the very start of episode 1, Stacy Layne Matthews became the cheese bubble on my microwaved Kraft single. Maybe it’s because she’d be right at home shaking her natural chest dumplings in a house dress and plastic slippers next to Dawn Davenport at a go-go club. Or maybe it’s because I know Stacy wouldn’t bat a judgmental eye as she held my neighbor’s garden hose for me while I wash out the hairy dye in their front yard, because my water got turned off. Or maybe it’s because she’s from BACK WATER, NORTH CAROLINA! It’s pretty much all of the above. Stacy Layne Matthews (formerly Stacy Layne Bryant) could break the wheel on a Piggly Wiggly shopping cart just by stepping out of her pick-up truck.

And my love for Stacy Layne boiled over like Raja’s ego last night when the queens had to use a cake as inspiration for a couture look. Stacy Layne took a red velvet cake and created this:

HAHAHA. I love that Stacy Layne’s idea of couture is one of Aretha Franklin’s old sweat suits from the early 90s. Velour is officially on the comeback stroll now. Bitch looks like a giant Red Velvet Bingle! Now I know why the blue bird winks!
