Stephen Yan of the Canadian cooking show Wok with Yan!
Apparently, I live under a wok (use a wonk instead of a GONG if you must), because I have never heard of Stephen Yan or Wok with Yan before Dlisted reader Mike slipped his name in the Hot Slut suggestion box outside of my office door. I asked around and EVERYBODY has heard of the wokky magic of Stephen Yan but me. WOK THE HELL?! In case you’re with me, Stephen Yan ran two Chinese restaurants in Vancouver before starring in his own cooking show in 1985. The show ran for over 15 years and was syndicated worldwide.
Stephen is known for his quick ass one-liners and the apron he wore with a different wok pun on them every week. This is what sold my ass. Wikipedia has a list of just some of the puns on Stephen’s apron including:
