The Final Frontier

The second hotel to open on the Las Vegas strip, The New Frontier Hotel, was blown up early this morning to make way for an $8 billion resort. The hotel was the strip's first themed hotel and hosted Elvis' debut in Las Vegas. It opened in 1942.

The owners of the Plaza Hotel in NYC will build the Las Vegas Plaza there to open in 2011.

SAD! When I was little Las Vegas was so much fun. It was such a piece of trash! We used to practically dodge heroin needles and drug dealers while walking through the casinos. I never stayed at the Frontier, but I wish I would've.

Oh well! There's still Circus Circus

RIP New Frontier Hotel!
