2-year-old Lakshmi had a successful operation that started yesterday. Over 30 doctors worked together to remove extra limbs and organs from Lakshmi. She was born attached to her headless identical twin sister.

Doctors worked on Lakshmi for 27-hours and said her surgery was very successful. She will be in intensive care at least 2 days. The surgery cost $625,00 and was paid for by the hospital foundation in India.

Doctors believe she will be able to live a normal life.

Lakshmi's father said, "We are very grateful to all the doctors for seeing our plight and deciding to help us"

People in Lakshmi's small village believe her to be a Hindu goddess.

Goddess Lakshmi forever! Oh damn, my black heart melted a little. Quick! I need to look at something fast to burn it back up. Show me a picture of Britney or something!
