WWE has released a time line of the events that happened the days Chris Benoit murdered his family and then took his own life.
On Sunday morning between 3:53 and 3:58 a.m. after he killed his wife Nancy and their son in their home, Benoit sent a total of 5 text messages to people from his and his wifes phone. He sent the same message four times that read "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayetteville, Georgia." And one more from his phone that said "The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open."
According to a press release obtained by TMZ, WWE was told of the messages on Monday. They say Chris had hanged himself on Sunday. The organization said Chris had contacted WWE on Saturday to tell them his wife and kid were sick and he would not be able to attend a WWE live event in Beaumont, Texas. They rescheduled his ticket for him but were unable to confirm their plans with him.
On Monday, officials were told of the text messages and asked the Sheriff's office to check on Chris and his family.
About 4 p.m. that day, police told WWE they found three bodies. After they learned of what had happened, "As facts emerged surrounding the case, all tributes to Chris Benoit were removed both on-air and on WWE.com," the release stated.
What a tragic turn of events. Just terrible.
