There’s an End in Sight

As expected , ABC has announced an end date for LOST. Producers wanted to nail down a date, so they can work out all the plots and details of the show in advance. The network announced this morning that there will be 48 new episodes of the show. These episodes will be broken down into 3 seasons and 16 episodes per season. They will air without interruption. The finale will air during the 2009-2010 season.

The producers said that setting an end date is “incredibly liberating. Like we’ve been running a marathon and we actually know where the finish line is for the first time.”

“What we didn’t know was how long we had to play the story out. By defining the endpoint we can now really map out the rest of the series in confidence.”

“We sort of view ‘Lost’ as a mosaic. Now there are only 48 more tiles that go into that mosaic, and we’re figuring out, along with all the other writers, exactly where they all go.

Seriously, it's the right choice. As much as I love this show it's best that they end on a high note. Desperate Housewives should follow suit, because that show needed to end yesterday. It sucks!
